While Les did play on Ramblin' Man and claimed he wrote/co-wrote both Ramblin' Man and Jessica I think you have to take it with a grain of salt like when Bernard Purdie claims he played drums on all those Beatle tracks. The Brothers had Ramblin' Man for a while and worked on it while Duane was still alive but it was thought of as being too country for the group at the time of Eat a Peach.
The solos are in #^&#^&#^&#^&y's style and I can not imagine him giving up the lead chair especially after the death of Duane.
