EXCELLENT video, Nebe!
thanks for introducing me to DBB
bump and swayy, she wails dooood!
quick herring question, though,,,,,,,,,,,
do they move up the coast like the stripers, or
is it more of a time of year thing up and down the coast,
whereas~~~ if they are running down yer way, they are running up here too??
s'pose i could go check the rivers me own damn seff, but that would make
waaaaay too much sense. thanks again for the killer FUNK and frolicocity!!!

Herring do not migrate north and south like striped bass do..and I agree with bob, they should be in all river systems now. Also any estuary system with deep water in the the brakish parts will have active holdover bass fishing. Even up in Maine. York river has a good population acording to my cousin.

I hate to say it but i think it's all done below the dam on the merrimack. As if the herring run numbers weren't bad enough back in the flood of 2006 at the mill where sals pizza is now they were doing construction and the windows on the basement floor were just open holes, the herring swam in and when the water receded they were trapped inside. The amount of herring was staggering. They ran a bobcat for two straight days dumping bucket after bucket of dead and half-dead herring into the river. This and the already low numbers of returning herring may have been the nail in the coffin for the great fishing that we enjoyed for many years below the great stone dam.

it will recover.. You only need 2 fish to make a lot of baby fish, then those baby fish make a lot more and te cycle will continue to bounce back
Sad story, but it will come back one day.
