I'm in the midst of putting together a little something along those lines in Excel. Thankfully, I'm finally using the few years of employing Excel for trend analysis to good use.

I've already created the template to incorporate all the standard info, and now I'm trying to put in a few equations to try and make some sense out of all the data. I'm going to try to input the prevailing wind/barometric pressure/air temperature/sea surface temperature of the three general areas I fish every day. I will also enter in my catches and at what stage of the tide I got them. In addition, I will add catch reports from others so long as the report is bonafide, and I know the stage of the tide the catch was made. I'm going to code in a number of spots and regions as well. A couple seasons worth of data should really show some major and minor trends.

This is in the earliest stages of development, but I will gladly forward it to you when I've come closer to completion.

Also, aren't you a software engineer if I remember the Globe article correctly? If so, do you have any ideas?

Yeah...but database programming is not my interest...and I have seen some stuff on the web for $20-79 that sort of does what you outlined more or less. I tried some some of the demo programs...I just could not get a feel for it, I was wondering if anyone used them here...

im interested too.

hey don, if you get something going there that you think is worth sharing, I am very very interested. I've just started logging my fishing recently on a request from a fellow fisherman. He's shown me how he keeps his records, in a journal, handwriten and it seems it would be better to have it on the computer...
