RR makes the onthewater fishing report:

Tuna have been tearing into schools of sea herring and occasionally mackerel as close as the B-Buoy. But there’s a far more sinister presence out there. When I asked Captain Mike Bousaleh if there were any mackerel off Hull left, he answered in the affirmative and even told me of an encounter with the granddaddy of all the mackerel sharks – a Great White. He and buddy and fellow charter captain, Ronnie Munafo, were out by the BE Buoy targeting tuna when they saw the dorsal fin of a large shark. They originally surmised that it must be a porbeagle, and considering that they make fine sport and fine table fare, they readied the steel leaders and live bait and cut the engines. As the shark drew nearer its size became clearer and they could see that this was far larger than any porbeagle shark had a right to be. As it cruised just below the transom, they got a good look at its enormity and unquestionably this was the big guy on the bank, a great white.
The shark didn’t give their live pogies so much as a sniff, but a clue as to a possibly sated belly appeared a short distance away. Nearby they spotted a pod of seals and in their midst was a thick, musky oil slick and a number of birds pl#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g scraps form the surface. The shark was estimated at 15 feet long, far bigger than the 7-footer making all the press off Gloucester.
