BP...good for your wallet?
Scum, losers, environmental degenerates, whatever people are calling them is all well and good...given the economic importance of what they do and certain governmental $$$ backing on the way its almost a certainty the company will rebound from this fiasco and be as profitable as ever in the coming months/years once all the palms have been greased...its simply the american way.
With the above in mind, do you buy the stock or maybe some call options to capitalize or is it simply unethical to do so?

Since when do ethics come into play when trying to make money in the stock market? Today it is a day traders market and buying a stock no longer a representation of any type of loyalty to the company whose stock passes through your portfolio. Remember the only rule is buy high and sell low...
I don't own nor ever have owned any BP stock directly but maybe somewhere in a mutual fund/ETF there were a few shares, just for the record

I've been wrestling with buying BP. Not because of the ethics, but because of the volatility. When this well gets plugged for good, the stock will probably jump and you might be able to make a quick 4-6%. On the other hand, when news coverage shifts from killing the well to the billions of dollars in lawsuits that BP is facing, I can see a plummet in price.
Then there is always the speculation that BP gets purchased which would pay off big time.

BP SUCKS
the way their employees treat the American people that have been
ruined in this Biggest ecological disaster of all time is totally despicable
and if some southernor's revolt and destroy some of their property
i wouldn't blame them one bit.
their Karma hasn't even begun
to swing around
and bite them in the ass
it's coming

BP will be around forever or until they decide to merge or morph into a new company and ditch the name and logo. Most people probably already own some and don't even know it. The disaster is our own fault for not looking harder at them beforehand.

the Government is equally! at fault for letting them drill there
in the first place where the conditions are almost as difficult as on the moon.
there was absolutely no back up plan if well failure occurred.

Oh well. Next time someone says they can stop a blowout a mile down, ask them if they can demonstrate it first someplace far away.
