.....those green peppers will turn red if they are left on the plant long enough (assuming they aren't a variety that takes too long to mature during our hot weather season).

If your wife's peppers are that frail looking, I think you are right about planting some extras. In my experience, if tomatoes, peppers or eggplant get of to a slow start and look kind of droopy for any length of time, they seldom rebound into vigorous plants that will bear a lot of fruit.

Isn't it nice I come to a fishing board to discuss gardening? Finally I had a chance to contribute something. What the hell do I know about stripers anyway? LOL. Tight lines.
