On the other hand, tempering my excitement is that fact that someone is going to get whacked by a shark out there, and it is going to happen soon. I'll be completely stunned if there is not a death out there in the next couple of years....I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened yet. At this point it is clear that there are lots of white sharks in the water out there during the summer months, and we all know there are lots of people as well. The vast majority of people out there this time of year have very little knowlege or common sense when it comes to respecting the ocean and the animals that live in it.
It's a sad fact that many of us have seen coming for years now...only a matter of time.

They sure do. We aren't swimming to rocks, but I'd rather wetsuit out to that distant bar and not worry about the trough behind me becoming too deep for waders as the water rises. |
