Search on for missing man in waters off Narragansett
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. --
Officials in Narragansett say they are searching for a 25-year-old male in the water about two miles south of the town beach near the Hazard Rock.
Four Lowell, Mass residents were fishing in the area when three of them were swept into the water around 2 p.m. according to the Coast Guard. The fourth male jumped into the water to assist. Three of the individuals were rescued but the fourth remains missing.
Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England dispatched a boat crew from Coast Guard Station Castle Hill and a helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod after receiving a 911 report of four people who fell into the water in the vicinity of Hazard Rock near Narragansett Pier.
The Narragansett Fire Department pulled three of the people out of the water but crews were unable to locate the fourth victim. The man is reportedly wearing long pants, a blue shirt and has long black hair.
