Interesting point. I never thought of that.
In regard to the Black Salties, we got some quite a few years ago. Probably 2002 was the first year there was a lot of publicity about them here in RI.
I can't remember if they were declared illegal in RI but I do remember that we livelined some at the Great Island Bridge. Clammer, you remember? You and Billy went one afternoon and were raising 20# bass in broad daylight.
I remember my old surf partner, RJ, and I fished them one night at Black Point. Never got a fish until we switched over to eels and them we "smoked 'em". I seem to remember that they were expensive, maybe $1.50 each. |
