Well, looked at the Wellcraft today. Transom seems fine, floors solid, didn't see any blistering. All new main electrics, steering cables changed when engine was rebuilt. Needs lights etc rewired. Needs alot of cosmetic work but that's just elbow grease and a little resin and paint. It does need a new fuel tank but I wouldn't have to cut the floor open - there is a big access panel. I'm pretty confident I can do it myself. AND the seller seems anxious. I'm going back to test engine. If all checks out and the price is right, what the hell, I'll go for it.
