I'm not so sure that you'd be on solid ground, legally, as the law in Massachusetts prohibits you from possessing striped bass that has been "mutilated" in such a way that an accurate determination of its length can't be made.

I don't know whether you'd want to risk an individual EPO's interpretation of this regulation.

A guy got a 50 in Lynn Harbor earlier this year cleaning cod at his slip, while he was throwing the scraps over the side, he kept seeing flashes. So he hooked a big cod skin and hit a 50... crazy.
