BRIDGEGATE
$4.6 million bridge being built by the state for horses
THIS smells very much like a bridge over Rt1 in foxboro........... It sounds like it's benefiting two riding stables more than anything else.

This money was already in the budget. Also, this is a situation where there had been a bridge which was in disrepair. They are replacing it, not just deciding to spend taxpayer $ on a whole new bridge. Think about how much public money is spent on equestrian activities. It's not even a fraction of what is spent on fishing, and I bet most of you think there isn't enough spent on fishing.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

$4.6 million for that bridge seems outrageous, they couldn't do it for less? I don't think the way the economy is going things like this should happen, whether it was in the budget or not. The thing I hate about budgets is they allot money and it has to be spent. If they don't spend what they are given then they aren't given as much the next year thus they always use their budget in order to receive more the next year. The thing that gets me is it doesn't seem to matter whether or not the spending is wise or necessary.
I hate the way a state agency will put in for a 10 percent increase and then only get a 5percent increase and the papers report that their budget got slashed because they didn't get the 10 percent they requested
