I can't stand people that try to impose their personal moral beliefs on to me or anyone else. If you don't like my moral structure, then get the hell away from me. I wish I could say the hypocrisy of lambasting you and then her saying she eats fish is surprising. It's that typical "do as I say, not as I do" attitude that is widespread in this country. If she wants to squawk at someone, direct her to the draggers that do more environmental damage in a day than everyone on this forum will do in their lifetime, combined. Was she wearing a leather belt or shoes?

On the other hand:
It's not at all that I think eating meat is wrong, but I find the way animals are raised and the quality of the meat because of that to be repulsive. Between the hormones and antibiotics pumped into these animals, the filthy conditions in which they are raised and the poor quality of the meat... even if I did eat meat, no thanks. The taste of farm fresh or free-range meat, along with the lack of there not being any additives is well worth the cost in my book.

The term "free range" implies that the animal has a beautiful 100 acre, rolling meadow farm to roam around on while grazing on lush grasses, as it would have back before we discovered the technologies used today. It may only mean that the animal can actually stand while they pump it full of chemicals during it's 6 - 8 week life span.

The Gvt is in the process of defining and limiting the terms that growers are allowed to use but that crap is all BS.

I'm with you, I used to raise chickens and turkeys and the meat was white as the background on this thread. Even the "free range" chicken in the stores is yield sign yellow from all the roids...The only way to get the good stuff is local farms or grow your own.

A good BBQ sauce cuts right through it though...

I completely agree with you. Same goes with terms like "Organically grown" for fruits and vegies. Gotta do the research.
