Salmon River

Fished it for the first time last week. I was kind of in between runs as far as timing goes and really had no idea what I was doing. I tried hooking up with a guide but it didn't work out so bought myself a "noodle rod" and had at it. I fished three mornings and had two fish on - lost them both. First was a most likely a salmon by the way it felt and by seeing what others around me were getting, second was a steelhead. 4th jump I lost it. WOW. I can se why this fishing is additive but also would say that I am glad I fished weekdays as it gets a little crazy. I really had no clue, just classic trout stream fishing with fake eggs.
Have fun guys, I certainly left some fish for you.

BTW bring your own lead. They cant sell it in NY and the non lead stuff is not nearly as effective to bottom bounce with.
