Given some time and space I have actually come to listen to Meatloaf. Maybe because of his roll as Eddy in Rocky Horror. Before he would have been on the list though. Funny, some will never be off the list.

I'm not surprised you'd like one of the least musically expressive and most mainstream songs in their catalog.

It wasn't a mainstream song when they wrote it. I wonder how it became so "mainstream"?

And also Guns N Roses. Mainly Axl Rose himself. His voice is just awful in so many ways. I do admire Slash and his guitar work but Axl Rose just kills it.

The whole album was meant to be mainstream. That's why they hired Rick Rubin to produce it. Mother's Milk and the albums before that were more expressive musically in my opinion. They had much more of a funky, improvisational feel than BSSM. Perhaps you're the one who doesn't understand the phrase "musically expressive"? Maybe you should stick to your geek rock. |
