Oddly - RI voted for increase even though it was 92.5 percent no increase - 7.5% increase.
Mass voted against increase - more later
thanks to Patrick on the news (and work)

I bet its based on the economy. RI is hit hard, if approved would allow for some extra $ for comms. Short sighted but I bets thats why.

I sorry I do not have the email reply to reference but, as clarified by Steve Medeiros, pres. RISAA, when I asked him why RI was in favor of the increase (ammendment ii to article 6) there was more to the story than just in favor or not.
even I'm confused reading what I just wrote

And you wonder why I don't bother folks???? Think what you want......it doesn't matter what the masses want or vote for.....the elected "Screw Ups" (for lack of the ability to post a 4 letter word here) vote what ever they want regardless!!!!!

I love how they dangle the opportunity for folks to vote and make it appear as though we might actually have a say in what goes on in this country and then some Politician takes the democracy and tosses it out the window and does just exactly as he likes!!!! Its beyond me how this is allowed to happen but there needs to be some serious changes in the system!!!!

That is a conversation I try to avoid because I go on for hours. I am from Mass, we poke ourselves in the eye every election day and forgot how much it hurt the last time.

Problem is that 92.5% represents only 37 people. Out of the whole state of RI only 37 people took the time to come out to the hearing or send a letter against the increase. Not much of a mandate from the public.
