What do you think the best fish finder is under 200$ with a transducer.

Just put a new one my my craft. so i researched quite a bit. I wanted a true sounder for not huge $$. I ended up at ~ 320 for a furuno.

There really aren't any serious machines for that price. If you want a real basic unit, some hummingbirds are that low in $$$.

Fish Finder under $200.00

Go to construction site find some plywood strips next find old window sash with good panes of glass. Make 6" x6" square box as long as the depth you want to go to add glass to bottom use water proof putty you may need to add window weights to get down to depth prefered There you have your fish finder for under $ 10.00 what a bargin!!!!

I have to agree with RockLobsta... The Garmin 160 Blue is the best value for around $200. Sure, there are better machines out there but for that much money you get a lot of nice features and they beat Humminbird products hands down IMO. Check them out. www.garmin.com

I have done some research this year in to the best value in a ~$200 fishfinder and the Eagle FishMark 320 seems to be one of the better deals for inshore use. The Furuno units don't appear to work as well in shallow water (say, less than 4 feet) and the Garmin units are known for screen problems.

The Eagle Fishmark 320 ( http://www.eaglegps.com/Products/Sonar/fishmark320.htm ) is essentially the same as the Lowrance X87 ( http://www.lowrance.com/Marine/Products/X87.asp ), which is about $70 more.

You might find it a little cheaper, but Cabelas has it for $199.99 with a free screen cover. Search http://www.cabelas.com Item ID-015619.

I purchased one 4 years ago, it was aroud the first year they were sold and I could not be more happy. No issues with screen or chatter from the motor. In 60 feet of water you can see a .25 oz mack jig bouncing like a read along.

Thats what i think i'm going with for my new boat (the 160 blue) maby a chartplotter, my dads friend has a used one for sale, i all ready have a gps.
