I don't resolve to NOT do something, but rather to try and DO something.
here's the logic behind this:
When you resolve to NOT do something, you are going against the natural insticts of human nature. No one like being told "You can't do that!" and when we do it to ourselves, we are setting ourselves up for failure. The underlying problem is that when you begin the new year under this premise, you have to battle against you own willpower and desire to keep from failing ALL YEAR LONG!
Now, under my practice, you are telling yourself that you will do something, ANYTHING new this coming year. Most people, myself most definitely, love to try new things. Under this premise you have the entire year in which to succeed, so that the only stress you will feel will be whatever you bring upon yourself.
Now I know this sounds corny and a little too easy to be worthwhile, but it is! Think about it: You are ALLOWING yourself the whole year to do whatever you can as long as it is something NEW, whereas the old resolution meant you had to watch your step for the whole year to keep from failing.
Would you rather spend the year looking forward to new things, or looking over your shoulder looking out for old?

giving up all fast food due to the poor quality of it and especially because of the hazardous packaging materials they put it in...all our teflon pans are going to the dump.
eating less red meat if any... too many added substances in it.
Giving up most alcohol except for an occasional glass of red wine
that i now get free in trade for tomatoes but i refuse to be taxed twice to just to buy it.
Eating mostly fish therefore i must fish ..... if i want to eat fish.
watching less NEWS because it's mostly depressing or disgusting.
eating 5 times more mushrooms.

well the case of champaign we drank last night was a great start
i think i'll have to meet Saltfly at the canal and maybe see you and frank testing prototypes ASAP...
first goal is to obtain licenses... and to start turning Larry.
then i'll try to stay as focussed as is RoyL
