Thank you, one and all. As you can probably imagine, my online time has been very limited over the last 48 hours.

Mom is 91. There's no such thing as a "mild" stroke at that age, but she has improved a lot over the past couple of days. She's out of immediate danger, and has been moved out of ICU to a intermediate care ward. She's not totally out of the woods, but her progress so far has been very good. She's conscious, alert, and able to communicate somewhat, although her speech was affected by the stroke. She's breathing normally, without oxygen.

I can't say enough good things about the care she's received at Miriam Hospital in Providence.
