Its about education! 9ers Rig?

Bare with me. I am old, and some think I am dead and buried!
I am not up with the latest fishing toys. So I am looking for some one to explain what a 9ers Rig is? Is it the same as an umbrella rig? Is this a local term used in a particular part of the east coast? Or are they two different items all together?

Hey Linesides - yes & yes. 9'er Rig is an umbrella rig from 9'er Lures using 9'er plastic shads... Kinda like the Santini Worm, they'd be offended it you called it a Tube-N-Worm...

Thanks John! I try not to make my self look foolish. Some times it doent work. Being an old timer, I am still willing to learn some things new about this trade. You may want to check my next post.

Linesides the 9ers is a umbrella rig but a new breed. They are easy to fish and do not foul up the baits with each other as the old style did. They have a cone shape to them unlike the umbrella shape of the older types. They fish great and are easy to store on the boat as the cone shape makes them able to be folded and put into a tube. I just happen to have been at the mfg. site today picking up some replacment shad. The young man that owns the company is great and very nice to deal with. I will post a picture for you later.

Ps for all you 9er lovers out there they have a new color that is awsome.

How deep do you have to fish an umbrella rig? Is it worth trolling a smaller one in bays and closer to shore? Typically we troll tube and worms but would like to try an umbrella rig. 9ers seem a little too big and bulky for us because we aren't using leadcore or wire line because we're in shallower waters but I'd give it a shot if it was worth it. Any advice?
