NFL award picks contest
In the interests of fun, figured I'd do a little contest... Make your picks for the following annual NFL awards. Winner gets a custom wood plug from my stash... Determined by who gets the most right. I'll figure something out if there's a tie, either a random # or a game at TFCTFN. Any post with edits will be disqualified.
I'll make my list separately and post it once all of the awards are announced... And I'll be honest. And no Jess, I don't have Vick as MVP
MVP: Brady
Offensive POY: Tom Brady
Defensive POY: Troy Polamalu
Comeback POY: Vick
Offensive ROY: BRADFORD
Defensive ROY: SUH
Coach OY: Bill Belichick
And the wild card...
Superbowl MVP: Rodgers
Good luck!

I HEAR YA, mi Amigo~~~
MVP: BRADY; enuff's been said
Offensive POY: Brees; he always puts up otherworldly ###'s
Defensive POY: Mathews; my son thinks it should be Harrison from the Steelers
Comeback POY: VICK; stellar season considering his 2yr absence
Offensive ROY: Bradford; he's gonna be the NEXT Brady
Defensive ROY: Suh; since the writers will overlook possibly Belichick's finest Rookie find, EVER
Coach OY: Coach Bill; most wins by a coach EVER with the most Rookies in a year
And the wild card...
Superbowl MVP: Green-Ellis AND Woodhead; co-MVP's~~
you did say wild card, and the PATS will need their best games to beat the Saints in Dallas. Brady will be stellar as always, but we'll need to run the ball effectively at the end to close it out AND in the beginning to set-up the pass!! at least that's the way my crystal ball sees it~~
|
these are the ones for reeel but where are yours, maestro??
THANKS Kevin, this should be interesting as well as add a little spice to the Season's end.
~~~Good Luck to Everyone!!
The defensive POY is Clay Matthews of the Packers. Even with the Fabio hairdoo.
I'm going out on a limb with Rivers, but what the heck.
From an individual standpoint, Cassel was only better in one category (INTs thrown). Considering that Rivers had a patchwork group of receivers, he did pretty well to throw for 4,700 yards and 30 TD's. I still can't stand him, though.
Last chance! Awards are being announced starting tonight.
Quote:
—Monday, Jan. 31: Defensive Player;
—Tuesday, Feb. 1: Tuesday, Feb. 1: Offense Player of the Year;
—Wednesday, Feb. 2: Coach of the Year;
—Friday, Feb. 4: Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year;
—Saturday, Feb. 5: Comeback Player;
—Sunday, Feb. 6 : Most Valuable Player
|
I'll give it till 1800 tonight. Friday for the SB MVP picks.
Should have stated that this is for the AP awards, but I guess you all figured that.
I guess superbowl MVP is right out for most... myself included If anyone wants to amend their picks, I guess it's fair. Ross, Bruce, fishbones... Might want to add em. Could come in handy for a tiebreaker.
Ross, who did you have for comeback?
I'm with Slipknot on SB MVP. I was going to choose Jennings because I think he'll have a big game, but if he has a big game it's because Rodgers is getting him the ball.
Rodgers for SB MVP
Big 0-6 on the first selection. Deserving choice, but I would have thought the two missed games would have boosted Matthew's value. Nonetheless, PIT has a completely different defense when he's in there & healthy... And I guess that's what it's all about!
Sorry, have been out since Thursday. Updated results are above (thanks slip for keeping up with it).
My picks:
MVP: Tom Brady
Offensive POY: Vick
Defensive POY: Clay Matthews
Comeback POY: Urlacher
Offensive ROY: Sam Bradford
Defensive ROY: Suh
Coach OY: Raheem Morris
Superbowl MVP: Mike Wallace
Didn't pan out too well
Both Slip and BD only missed on the DPOY and OPOY. But, I don't have a SB MVP from Jess... So Slipknot wins it!!! PM coming.
