And off you go! Nice job. Both the needle and the swimmer look like winners. Thanks for showing them.

It is definitely addictive. I have several in the works, started painting with airbrush and that is as addictive as turning wood! I just finished up the other swimmer, green along the back, blue below and white belly. This is too much fun!

very nice plugs. I wish my first looked that good.
I like the shape of that needle. Keep up the good work and enjoy plug designing and building. Its very rewarding and teaches you lost about fishing.

The shape of the needle was off of memory from Needle made by a friend of mine (Jason). I think his was about an inch or more shorter, mine is 7 1/2 ". I have a fairly large weight in the tail, little worried it will stand up like a cork!. All other shapes were from things I have seen on this site. When the water warms then I can start experimenting and see what works the best.

Its a very nice shape, with a tail weight the preferred method is to counterbalance that weight with a weight forward of the hook. But listen everything should be tried and experimented. For all the plugs I have made succesfully there have been utter failures and disaster that were burned to destroy the plug failed evidence.
If you need some pictures of needle weightings let me know, but certainly experiment.
