what is the local name ?

shiner's we used to call them in the charles river area
same name used for the baitfish, when i was growing up

you could catch them on bread dough
(skinnier than that)........... by the bucket full

not sure if the species i am talkin about
is now protected though

because i was thinking it would
make a good cut bait for stripers

When I first move to NE, 30 odd years ago, I caught those things by the dozen and threw them all back. Haven't caught one since..DOH!!!

Have to admit when I saw the title thread I thought the thread author would be Raider Ronnie and that it would be about Obama. I guess the "e" in morone should have tippped me off.
