Exclamation Deet and fishing dont mix!

DEET, the active ingredient in most bug sprays is the product scientists have found to be the most objectionable to fish. They absolutely detest the smell, taste, and odor.its the enemy as far as getting it on your hands. Those of you (fishermen)who use deet to keep the bugs off of you, HEAR THIS! Don't get it on your hands!!! AGAIN ..... dont get it on your hands! If you touch a bait with your hand that has had deet on them nothing will touch that bait. EVER! so the trick is to have some baggies handy or any plastic bag ,rubber glove ect. to apply bug repellent with ok.

there is a new device for backyards that attracts and kills mosquitos and it runs off propane and works like a charm although its rather pricey. birds do eat mosquitos yes, but bats eat their own weight in insects every evening and are fairly easy to attract .BAT HOUSES ->its just a bottomless bird house with a grab wire mesh
up on top of the inside. The main requirement is that it is attached on the North side of a tree, barn or whatever is available to keep them cool by day.garlic perls or capsules thrown into ponds help to kill mosquito larva in standing water if you cant dump it out.
yards that have no "air flow" need to be thinned enough to have air flow, then the bats will have pathways to fly around in. DEET, the active ingredient in most bug sprays is the product scientists have found to be the most objectionable to fish. They absolutely detest the smell, taste, and odor.
