we've been down this road before w/ the license. it was only about 2 years ago that all this first came up, an advisory board was formed to take both sides of view into consideration w/ risaa leading the campaign, and it was eventually voted down. we knew it would be back. i can't say i'm surprised it came up, but i am surprised it was pushed thru and passed so fast. i guess they knew what opposition they would have from the fisheries.

i would say that in any other state i would be favor of this license if it was used for what it's original intentions were - increased money for law enforement, better and new public boat ramps, increased study into state fisheries, etc. but, this is rhode island and somehow i'm sure it would get put into the general fund, thus not much if any money towards the true intentions of the bill. that's one of the main reasons it was originally shot down. this is unfortunate. i am curious to see how the ri charters captains, united rec committees, and risaa come back to fight.
