Not saying the dirtbag purse snatcher doesn't deserve it......but is it really worth it for a fishing rod, or a plug bag.

Great point. If you shoot and kill an unarmed person (especially one with no violent criminal history), it's gonna be tough to justify self defense. Spending years in jail away from your family would be much worse than losing some fishing gear.
Even if you were able to stay out of jail, would you be able to live knowing that you took someone else's life over some replaceable stuff? |

in a word...YES. if someone threatens my well being and wants me to hand over my hard earned posessions and i have the means to safely (as in mine) defend myself- i would using anything at my disposal. 60# boga, dive knive, 4/0 vmc, and other means depending which state i'm fishing in. just saying... |

My point was about dealing with unarmed people trying to take your stuff from you. If they're armed, I agree with doing what you have to do.
BTW, I've seen that rod you fish at the canal. If you can keep them at rods length, you'll have no issues with them getting close enough to you to do anything |
