Life only stinks if u want it to
Be thankful to wake up in the morning. Alot of us aren't thankful enough just to wake up in the morning. It's a once in a lifetime day every day, good or bad. This thinking has kept me positive in the last few of years through tough times. I finally stopped stressing out about everything. Just because I only have 1 shot at it and I'm going to make the best of it. My stress level is 0. I get pissed here and there but get over it very quickly. When u get pissed = think about being alive to be pissed. Kind of a wierd post but I was stressed for about a year and a half about business, money, credit, new baby. That's a long time to be bummed. Just happy to be here and make the best of everyday. As we all should be. Btw I never saw a shrink. Lol

Big problem for me. Ask my better half of 12 years this past July. She rides my ass all the time. I look like a tool in 90% of the pics we have taken over the years. I don't smile much while I'm fishing even though I'm happy. I'm focused. Lol

Good post, Jay. It's important to keep things in perspective and not sweat the small stuff.
By the way, whenever I run into you, you seem to be pretty upbeat. I guess it's because I'm always with the mule and he has that effect on everybody.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

When life gives you lemons, make Margaritas.
I don't have a choice in the matter, I refuse to let myself be down and grumpy ('cept for politics ) as their is too many good and important things to do and be responsible for.

Got stress...fish more! Remember it is the act of fishing not catching fish that has the calming effect. Stress levels rise when those damn fish strike along with the adrenaline: will I land this sucker or not????

Cripes. If everyone on this forum aired their problems, there would be no posts for fishing. We all have issues. Every guy I know has problems with health, kids, family, jobs, money. It called LIVING!!!
me, I thank God every day that I get up and walk around.

You are the most muggable guy on sb. Frigging hilarious. I don't know why you get mugged all of the time. We don't catch anything. Lol

Well I certainly don't want my life to stink but it does and almost none of it is my fault.
The beach and fishing is my shrink and all that I have when I can afford to get to it.
I'm not smiling.

The act (art?) of fishing is relaxing because it forces you, whether you know it or not, to focus on the task at hand. Just that ONE task, so that all the other crap you might have to deal with or be exposed to get pushed out of the way. Thus you can relax and enjoy fishing, and nothing but fishing.
