I used small SS washers in the rubber receiver areas, and larger washers directly into the felt.

This is my second go-around, and this system is definitely an improvement. The larger washers keep the spike straight, and prevent them from leaning over due to their larger surface area. Also, dip the threads in white MARINE epoxy (2-hour cure time) available at HD or lowes. I have been emaling Sam H at korkers for the last 2 years to make a better boot... one with receiver threads built directly into the sole... They simply dont think there is a need for the boot... Email the guy and speak your mind!

I'm not so sure about the "Grip Studs" that I put in my waders. Just cheepo rangers with the rubber boots and the rubber doesn't seem strong enough to hold them upright. Haven't really beat on them yet though.

The wearbars are in already, just waiting for the boots which should be here thursday.

I plan on using all 48 of them, 24 in each.

Ivan looks like you have 29 per boot.

Im a big guy and think the extra studs will help with dispersing my weight and not crushing as many.

I would put extra in but didnt want to buy another 48 pack for just 12more.
