My Sons First
My son told me he wanted to catch a bluefish while we were on vacation down the Cape this week. We saw a ton of birds picking off bait while at the beach today, so I decided to take him after dinner. I was casting the plug into a pretty stiff breeze and letting my son reel it in. He was doing great, but there didn't seem to be any fish around. After a few minutes, I was watching him work the plug and all of a sudden I saw a fish hit it. As he got it to shore, I realized that it wasn't a small blue, but a tiny bass. He was thrilled, and I was probably even more excited than him to see him catch his first striper.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

Very cool
Keep that picture safe for him when he gets older, he will remember that bass for his whole life and when he gets older you can frame it and give it to him.
Make sure he knows about bluefish and their teeth. One of the few things I remember when I was really young was my first snapper bluefish. I will start a different thread so I don't derail yours.

Great experience and fish to boot....I'll bet he outfished Dad!
Make sure to instruct him properly: don't hold a bluefish that way.

Look for this around December John-
Dear Santa I have been a good boy this year and for christmas this year I would like.
1- A 10' Century Stealth with concept guides rated 2-5 oz
2- A Van Staal 150
3- A tank for keeping eels alive
4- An assortment of custom plugs
5- A new football
Thank you
