Storm Thread: Photos, Jokes, Vids, & Panics
Figured I would start a thread
Halfway up Gansett Bay, wind is blowing in the low 30's gusting higher. Already larger limbs are down.
Bay is coming up the end of my street (nothing to worry on where I live) but supposedly a couple streets over one of the small houses along the beach was taken out. If that is happening here - God help those on the beaches out front.

I came home. Only a matter of time before I lost power with all the trees down.
Not real windy here in the valley. It's pretty nasty up on the hill.

The Sakonnet looked pretty full an hour ago, but it's a big tide to begin with. Don't think it's enough to cause any flooding though...aside from the houses down by Riverside marine. Many of them have crawl spaces just above the high water line.

I believe it's going to be moving NE across CT for several hours...we should get more wind until around noon and the rain tapering off by afternoon.

It hasn't been too bad so far. I woke up around 3 and it was blowing 20-30. I'd say, right now, consistently 40 with gusts over 50. We had a monster gust about 5 minutes ago that caused a brief power blip. MMA and Taylor's Point stayed dry on the AM high--we'll see what the evening brings with the wrap-around SW winds.
The rain is basically over here--it's a wind event. And it definitely stepped up a notch in the last half-hour.
This is in Bournedale, just north of the Canal and 3 miles from CC Bay.

My girl filled up both bath tubs with water just in case. So I wake up and jump in the shower and it's ice cold. She filled up one of the tubs with hot water by mistake! So she comes in and sees me sitting in the tub and says WTF are you doing! I laughed and asked if she was planning on making ramen noodles in the tub.

One took out part of neighbors deck, another bounced off the roof with no damage.

10 Dead and 4 million without power... And I'm sure some pretty bad flooding (freshwater) in western neighboring states... I see no overhype on this one... It's a big world outside of our own backyards...
