createx paint option??

Hi, I was looking through a flyer from a week or so ago and saw some paint that looked like createx called Americana( said .77 cents a bottle). Anyone use it and will it work as well? I have yet to airbrush, just need a few things but just was wondering.. Thanks.

If your just starting out, I'd stay away from cheap thick muddy paint that needs lots of tlc to make it go through any airbrush...there's a reason why other higher costing paints are better..one reason their already thinned for the ab and the pigments are much finer as to not clog up your gun.

you woke the head grump up

Createx T shirt paint and Createx auto air can be mixed. Use liquitex to thin not water. Some pearls have adhesion problems because of what they are based of. Many use scratch coats. Heat setting for 30 minutes at 150 is recommended to set the paint.

does a c more or michaels craft store sell the createx and liquidtex? I will have to try and fight the traffic monday to get to them and see.

So, seal, then i can rattle can prime? then a non pearl and flex coat top..

do you have to heat set non pearl - also is scratch coat just a white base coat(or whatever color)

almost up to running speed..just a few more bits to go and i will be able to make a plug from start to finish.. i dont think any prize winners but has been fun so far..

I have always used Createx and have never needed to heat set it. No adhesion problems here.

No scratch coat either.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Your special Larry.

Createx recommends that it be heat set.

Scratch coat is only needed if you want to sign it, or you use some of the silvered colors as they contain aluminum pigment which reacts with water.

JL go to dixieart.com or bearair.com and they have it cheaper than Ac etc. You don't want to buy that stuff in a store it's close to robbery the prices they charge. I haven't bought any in many years. I gave up when they started jacking the prices.
