As for the hunting thing. We live in an area that for the majority, don't "get it". Except for Maine, Vermont and N.H., New Englanders haven't had the need to hunt. The lower half has always been industrified(is that a new word?). Once you go past New york, south and west, they take the day out of school for opening day of buck season. Around here the only way to hunt IS private land because the nitwits that hunt state land worry me, I cant tell you how many times I have heard pellets hitting leaves above my head from ppl I have just talked to in the woods. Its so crowded its scary. I have no private land, but if I make a polite and intelligent approach, I can usually find a farm or property of some sort where the deer are a nuisance
