Someone not telling us about his PB

There is a certain former plug ch#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g, now mackeral loving, member of this esteemed site that broke his pb and sounds like he broke the magic # last week. Sounds like his leaders no longer smelled like smoke, and that was the key. I also believe said member had a fish like this come up behind his boat last year about this time.

Flush him out boys, i'm sure everyone wants to hear the story.

Yup. New PB. Midday on boat with live macks. Was lucky to happen upon a school of large..... Had 8 fish over 42". Biggun was 52". Fat. No scale, but after a few days of carrying bundles of roofing shingles, I know it was 50#, and that's good enough for me. Different kind of animal in every way, size of its features, the fight, etc. Sheer power in that tail was something.... Still swimming. Same spot was lifeless the next day....

Congrats. Does that mean the Fall Run is officially over?

You are a credit to the sport, Ross. The release of such a fish is a greater accomplishment than the catch.

Letting a big fish live to breed, rather than killing it to document your catch, is the mark of someone who has reached a high plateau in fishing and in life.

Well done.

Thank you, all.

PaulS, it was around the corner in a cove of the Neck. But was just as close to shore, so could have been caught from shore. You know how close I put the boat to the rocks.....

I have to admit, it has kind of screwed up the motivation to fish...so be careful what you wish for. I feel like the greyhound that has caught the rabbit... I'll snap out of it when I get my next mid twenty inch fish and still appreciate the catch as I always did... Time to go codfishing for the freezer when the offshore weather breaks
