My buddies gave me sh*t for going for the 7' LD gaff vs. the smaller one.... My first fish 3 years ago snapped the rod in half after 2.5 hours. Call me crazy, but it all goes under the gunnel and I would rather have the right tool when I need it and a bloody deck on Halloween
