I can't believe HOW they did it. I read an article yesterday that detailed from an Iraqi general how they got to it. It's ridiculously stupidly simple.
HEADS SHOULD ROLL on who approved a NON SECURE link to control the things and why didn't they have a self destruct device (which probably wouldnt have helped here unless they blew it on the ground which is improbable.
All they did was jam the main contact frequency, then spoof the gps coordinates and terrain height. So when the drone loses signal it's auto programmed to return to base and land. Cept this time it landed in Iran.
$1 million down the effin tubes because of poor design..
