Ram install
I have two laptops that I would like to increase the ram on.
The ram itself is cheap. From everything I have read the install is very easy. However, I'd rather not do it myself.
All the places I see charge an insane amount for a job that shouldn't take that long at all (according to what I am reading).
Is there any place that charges a reasonable rate?

Greg , I've done it before on a PC not a laptop but I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and can do it for you.

Laptops can be a little bit more frighting, but yes its simple, and there is a small methodology to taking the ram out and putting it in. but again that is simple as well. i suggested he watch a YouTube Video. or if hes in RI he can swing by my house and i would put it in for him. Hell i could prob walk him step by step VIA the phone. or you Andy, seeing as how you have PC experience. Let me know and we can set something up. |

Laptops also have various ways to install, most easy, on a rare occasion somewhat of a pain |

Two actually. A laptop and a netbook.
Dell xps 15 Has 6gb want to upgrade it to 8.
and a
Toshiba Nb505-n500bl which I'd like to upgrade to 2Gb.

Laptop6 gig is good. I would get at least 3 for the book

If you have 2 memory slots you can you just have 2 buy 2 2gig chips

Better check the spec on max ram...some netbook m/b's only max at 1 gig. |

Crucial's website tells me 2gb for that model. I don't know enough about it. |
