You were jaywalking Craig? People use to ask us all the time, do I have to stop for someone crossing the street, not in a crosswalk? Our reply was, no, but you'r be real smart if you did. The only place you have the right of way as a pedestrian is in a crosswalk on a public way. When the law was strengthened a number of years ago, we were told that the person had to be a third of the way into the lane before a ticket could be written for not stopping for the person in the crosswalk. Just stepping off the curb does not mean everything comes to a halt. But hey what am I talking about, I stopped caring about that chit 18 months ago.
Besides from what I understand in Plymouth county ticket writing is down 60% to 80% in most of the towns. So don't count on any action if you had an enforcement issue.
