I had RK (Lasik's younger brother) done about 17 years ago, and I still don't have to wear glasses. I still have problems at night while driving, especially when it's wet and there is a glare. Pretty quick surgery, about ten minutes an eye. For a few days after the surgery your eyes are very sensitive to light. You'll notice a difference almost immediately however, and I would recommend it. Good luck

Night driving glare is most easily solved by going to walmart and buying a yellow lens'd pair of SHOOTING GLASSES for those dark rainy nights. They allow you to stare directly at oncoming headlights and it won't even bother you.
I tend to get distracted by all the pretty colors of tail lights, traffic lights
and side marker lights combined with street lights and of course the glare of head lights... making seeing that much more difficult
then i grab the shooting glasses and it basically ends that.

Lasik has come a long way... back in the old days they would remove your lens then " chill it" and put it in a special lathe to turn it like a bowl then stitch it back on...
now it's done a much better way with lasers and is much less traumatic.

I had it done about 10 years ago. It was the BEST thing I ever did! Vision is perfect. No night problems. I wear sunglasses more than usual for light sensitivity but don't we all fishing anyway. I used a Dr. in Plymouth next to the registry who is affiliated with Mass Eye and Ear. He came WELL recommended from a friend. As for Dr. Nielsen I hear Howie Carr speaking highly of him on the radio right now.

Had mine done at TLC. Was expensive then, but wasn't looking to get a bargain. Best $$$ I have ever spent. Good luck.......you won't regret it.

I had to get an enhancement done, which is just a fancy name for a do-over.
