We had a girl in HS who wouldn't stand for the Pledge one morning because she was hung over and when the teacher told her she had to, she claimed it was against her beliefs. Once she said that, she had to stick to it and each morning would remain sitting for the Pledge. This was back in 1987 in Randolph, MA. It was a really big story back then and made it into the newspapers and on tv.

Let me guess, 1987 Randolph.
She either got off the MBTA or BATT bus in Randolph center for school, then on the same public transportation bus back home after school. |

Are you implying that she came from out of town? She lived in town and was a Jewish girl who listened to heavy metal?
