Aquaskinz Small Belt Pouch or Tactical Anglers Assault Pouch?

Looking for a small pouch just enough to stuff 2 or 3 small plugs/ bucktails, waterproof camera and a spare leader when swimming in the wetsuit. Leaning towards the Aquaskinz "Small Belt Pouch" as it looks like it has a bit more room, but haven't gotten my hands on either to take a closer look. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I think there is a thread on what guys use for surfbelts that will pretty much cover what you are looking for

take a look at mak bags, i just picked up the small 2 tube bag at rissa. im going with a couple of small bags on my belt and a bucktail holster.. really downsizing. they are really well built and made to last. i really like the way they feel, very light, and should be great wetsuiting.

This is the small bronko bag of old. Very nice small bag. About as good as it gets, in my opinion, short of the custom bags.

Commando has a belt pouch coming out soon, i think you'll be able to check it out at MSBA, but it'll probably be available on line soon also.

the mak is a little more expensive, but being so well built, will last for years to come, whereas a cheaper bag will have to be replaced in a few years... guess it just depends on your budget. mak's have a great warranty on the workmanship also.

I have issues with my AS pouch. The zipper gets stuck. I woul look for something with Velcro as opposed to a zipper. I bough mine with the same ideas you have maybe a couple of eels or even tins buck tails. I have been dissappointed in the zipper. Not the right bag for the job imho

i think thats what attracted me the most to the mak 2 tube... 6 inches of velcro on the face of the bag, once its closed its closed. plenty of room for 2-3 needles, and then some swimmers inthe other. theres a built in holder for a half dozen bucktails, and then still room for a bag of sluggos or shads in the front. just a very efficient bag imo.a couple of these on your belt and your well equipped for a night of fishing.

Why wouldn't you just get one 4 tube bag? It makes absolutely no sense in having two bags on your belt. You really have to love the experts out there advocating a couple of bags on your belt and go out there and swim around . Why don't you just fill your boots with cement, its faster? Anyone who advocates wet suiting with two belt bags is a fool....

For you guys looking for a riggie pouch or belt pouch check out the commando pouch. Built to last a lifetime and with stand anything thrown at it. Will hold half a dozen riggies easy with another pocket for your leader wallet, camera whatever you want.

although i will second you on teh commando pouch, as anything commando is great quality, I will respectively disagree regarding the 1 bag vs two. when swimming either in skishing or even swimming to a distant rock, a large 4 tube bag can act like a hydrosail, it will push you with the current in the water to the left or right of your destination, two 2 tube bags have less surface area for it to push. That said I do believe 1 bag whether it be a 2 or three tube bag is best IMHO. less weight and area for water to fill in, if you bag isn;t waterproof or have good drainage. If your not wetsuiting, it makes no difference whether 2 or 1 bag its all personal choice

yeah i guess i needed to be a little clearer, wasnt advocating buying 2 of the same two tube bags. im simply going with one mak bag and a smaller pouch type bag on my belt for certain situations. i dont claim to be a hardcore wetsuiter, and was simply saying that it should serve me well with my needs, if i dont want to carry my plug bag.

Fin my point was more toward the amount of weight and gear on ones belt while wetsuiting. I agree with you about being pushed around in the current with a bigger bag.

massbassman, I wasn't taking a shot at you, I just see more and more guys with so much stuff hanging off their belt while wet suiting it is just asking for trouble. Imho it just can't be logical or the way to approach wetsuiting, especially for the beginner. I am a far cry from a hardcore wetsuiter and will never claim to be one, I was just speaking from my own personal experiences. I like to stay light and mobile, like you said to each his own.

I fish a commando two tube bag with a removable front pouch, I dont wear it around my wast because I have a boga across the back of my belt. It is the perfect bag and will hold all the plugs you need for a night and the front pouch can hold 8 good sized eels and some plastic. Check them out you wont be dissapointed. As far as Mak stuff goes, ive never used it but know guys inside my circle who have and didnt have much good to say about it.

no offense taken thumper, i guess i just said it wrong. what im doing is just trying to lighten the amount of gear im going to bring with me as i tend to gravitate to my "confidence lures". and the rest is just extra weight. i will never give up my plug bag, just plan to use this bag in certain situations. i have to stress that i dont swim, more like wading out to rocks, i leave that to the professionals! sorry for the confusion.
