Talking Makerel are running!

After another 6 months of redsigning the old darter, here's the new and improved.
Made numerous adjustments to improve casting distance, diving range, digging ability and lure action. Many, Many hours have gone into this model, and I would like to thank those that have helped me along the way with comments - good and bad. To name a few - HABS (it's good to work for the king) , Seawolf, Crazy Alberto, and Iron Mike to name a few.

Here's a school headed west to www.surfcasting-rhodeisland.com

thanks for the compliment, ink-man. i'm glad i was able to give advice to you for good product to make it even better! i've had a few of the new ones over the past 6 months and they are just as tattoo says, better casting, swimming, digging, etc. if you do not have one yet, i'd get a few. they go fast! i've never seen an order last more than 2 weeks in a shop. considering how difficult and labor intensive they are to make, don't wait for the second run. get yours now! i believe a order is to be delivered to a few shops very, very soon. i'd pay attention to further posts form the ink-man and get yours now.

Another quality Tattoo lure!
How long does it take a school of macks to cross the bay? (Probably a long time - they look like they don't go anywhere in a straight line.....
Darters will be 19.99 shipping included.....
I'll have mack, yellow & blurple.

I may even have some Habs needles in a couple of weeks....at least that is what the rumor is churning. I should have taken out a home line and ordered 500 of those.....oh well....next time I will.

Also....I now have some of the harder to find Atoms.
I have some Atom 40's, Junior Atoms, Reverse Atoms & the new Baby Atom which also makes a nice eel skin host
http://surfcasting-rhodeisland.com/storepagethree.htm

Bernzy, your Atoms will ship tom....thanks...

Tobias,

The bottom lip is longer to keep the plug in the water in a rip rather than skipping across the top upside down.

The front hook has been moved foward to shift weight to the front of the lure, which helps with getting the lure to start to dig after it initially lands.

The shape of the lure has changed a bit to cut down on wind resistance to decrease tumbling like a bananna and increase distance.

Don't get me wrong, the others just as well as these do, but the lure needed some adjustments to make it better than before. Just trying to give the customer the best for there buck.

If you don't want the old one's can I have them? I only have one left.....and only 2 left of the new ones.

I have about 10 of the old ones and only one of those is slightly used (no nicks or pointers, just swam it to check out the action). If you want to trade for new ones, pm me. I also have the white darter you had at the MSBA show from two years ago. Thanks.

I have five of em. an I don't know what ur talkin bout I tested them in calm water an in the sweepin outgoin current of the river. It didnot come out of the water. It is one of the best swimmin darters Iv'e thrown.they could cast alittle better but thats a even tradeoff.I'm not sure there is a harder lure to mass produce than a darter.I make my own they are the hardest lure to get right, tough to make a good caster that swims good.I have a bunch o gibbs 3 oz darters I screwed around with they weighed about 2.7,2.8 they cast for crap put a shot of lead in em an the cast like a rocket. an swimm better.now I just gotta rewire em One fish will nock the plug outa wack the way the wire comes through the top of them things lots o work for 17.dollars. give me the tatto's any time. Not sure movin the hook foward or makin the front lip longer makes them stay in the water better.Maybe the angle of the lip. like the addage goes up is down an down is up.Or somethin like that.darters are bout balance the constant battle of lip against body.I guess I got lucky as all mine swam good.Man I wish I knew what that finish is.

Talking

I was on a sand beach 3 weeks ago when I snapped off a white Tattoo darter, you should have seen the faces on the people on the beach when I went swimming for it!!!

the full moon looks orange sometimes when it rises because the light has to pass through more of the atmosphere then when the moon is higher in the sky. the blue light waves scatter but the red light waves pass through...... if you were wondering.
