Inshore/Offshore Rod and Reel Combo

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a conventional setup that can handle inshore and offshore fishing. Something that could be used for jigging yellowfin and also be used for bass and fluke. Any recommendations? I was looking at the penn squall and was wondering if anyone has a review of it. thanks

I have an Avet MXL with a G Loomis PBR844c that I really like as a combo. Use it for cod jigging, bassing and small YFT. Would probably be too much rod for fluke, though.

I doubt you'll find a rod that can handle both tuna and fluke... While I'm no fluke expert, isn't it generally quite light tackle (unless it's deep dropping 6 oz fluke balls)?

Ideally I would like to keep the price around $300. Any recommendations for a combo at that price point?

I can't speak to the tuna, but if you are talking school size, stripers to 45lbs, any size fluke, black sea bass and blues; I love my Shimano Travala TVS70ML. That might not handle the weight you need, if you need heavier, then the conventional series takes you up considerably in weight; mine is rated for 2 to 4-3/4oz. What I like about them is it's light, you don't get beat up, yet it has the power to handle big bass; yet a 3lb black sea bass is still fun. I like the spining so I can quickly get my jigs down and I personally don't need to go heavier.
