Somebody is going to get attacked out there soon. Probably will be a surfer at first light, or a paddle boarder. This encounter is just big news because there is a good picture, but there have been a lot of encounters really tight to the beach in really high population areas. It actually shows you how good these sharks are at identifying their prey. With two swipes of the tale that shark could have dumped that guy in the water and had his way with him.

True, it could, but most shark attacks on kayakers have just been a situation of the shark hitting the kayak and then realizing its plastic and just moving on....

this actually just happened out in CA the other day!

I do agree though that it's just a matter of time, I wonder if it will then lead to some management of these seals....
