Garmin g2 Vision Chip

I orderd a Garmin g2 Vision chip from Abes of Maine for my model 4200 chart plotter, installed the chip and nothing happened still had all the old charts without the updgrade. Has this happened to anyone else? Did I install it wrong? Any ideas?

Check the setting on your machine... you may have the machine set up for lower detail than the G2 offeres..I love mine...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Best thing to do is call Garmin support. I have Garmin GPS with Vision chip, fishfinder and GDL 40 weather and a Garmin NEMA 2000 network and the support guys have helped me on several occasions.

No boat, back in the suds.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

There is not much change on the charts, but I think it adds the fishing chart?. See if you can have photos and satellite view.

Also most important, select at "where to" pick a waypoint, then "navigate to" and see if the "Guide to" function is there. IMO that is the best part of the G2 chip. I dont' use the the other crap.

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

it also adds fuel dock locations.. resteraunts and other details..

it adds a 3 D function and other land based features.... I'm with you... I dont use most of the features... the fishing map is great in deeper water.. some of the detail is annoying so i tune it out... if it was not part of a promotion when i bought the unit.. i would not have gotten it...
