Specialist... you're right, large makos have been mistakenly identified as whites before... they are related (both mackeral sharks, I believe), but the question is "does it matter" 'cause either way its a damn big shark. I used to body surf alot when we'd come up to nantucket when I was a kid... when my wife and I moved up to Boston 5 or 6 years ago, we met my uncle and aunt over on the island. My cousins, my wife and I got hammered and went swimming in the surf right a dusk, not real bright... now, I don't do much more than wade in a bit. I guess I've become a sissy, but when you watch a million of those shows about sharks, you can't help but think about it.
