Congrats! Nice fish, nice to have friends like Ron and nice to see some action up in Maine. I love it up there, been going up for about 10 years now with the family. The luck has been dwindling the past few years up Booth Bay area but like I said I love it up there. "Maine the way life should be"!

So what was Ron's advice, "do as I say, not as I do" ?

Thank you for all of the comments. That's a fish I'll never forget. I don't catch big ones like that, so it was a trip. Ron basically gave me confidence, told me to move if the action wasn't happening, suggested clams if I went the bait route and basically pumped me up with his enthusiasm and knowledge.

Glad it helped. Hope we get to connect next time. Time on the water makes it work. Tight lines Ron

There's a lot bigger than that around where he landed that one. 2 over 50 there last yr an 1 so far this yr. Hard part with fishing Maine is the 3500 miles of fishing spots to choose from.Just within 30 miles of my place there's more fishing than the whole of Cape Cod.This yr with all the mud in the rivers from the monsoon type rains we're getting the beaches are the place to go an the rock piles that abut them.
