Big bag for kayak stripers

I was looking to get a big nylon or burlap bag to have in my 'yak in case I caught a really big striper; can't get much more than a 30 incher in my cooler right now. Anybody got any suggestions on where to find one?

I have a spear fishing "clip" that I use to keep a bass 0r 2.. Open the clip, slide it in the mouth and out the gill and close the clip.. Then I just leave the fish in the water. No need for bags, rope, or stuffing the fish inside my yak. Consider it....

Illegal in Massachusetts to do that.

Because your location is not in your signature I don't know if this would be a help... but the Marine Consignment Shop in Wickford usually has a load of gear bags, duffle bags and light weight but sturdy sail bags around

Yup no stringers in mass for stripers! Though I still see some real tools at the canal doing it...and they know better!!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Its not up to me...Its up to the EP you are arguing with.

here is what the reg says...

"It shall be unlawful to keep striped bass alive in the water by attaching a line or chain to the fish or placing the fish in a live well or holding car."

Now you get into the whole Intent thing.....did you intend to keep them alive and they just died...blah blah....

Hopefully the EP understands.....i'd rather just not do it.

I just flip them in the crate in the back of the yak.....or some guys just strap them to the front

when you get a big one, strap it to the bow and row around like a hero, they look best that way

I'd go with RIPROCKHOUNDS's suggestion, bleed it right away, clip it and toss over the side.

Yeah, I slash one gill and let it bleed out. And it is legal in mass to do that. Your not keeping it alive.

Here is a better definition of the rule.....Like I said...people are welcome to argue it if they want

◦(e) To prohibit the practice of high-grading as defined in 322 CMR 6.07(2) recreational fishermen may not retain legal-sized striped bass and release said fish in favor of another larger legal-sized striped bass captured subsequently. Any legal-sized fish not immediately released into the water and held by stringer, live-well or another means shall be considered intent to high-grade.

and I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here.....

given all the recent shark activity, do you really want to be towing around a bleeding striper from a yak????

Again.. It says "live". And with a slashed set of gills it's obvious that hi grading isn't an intent.

Ahem, folks, back to the main topic here. I don't want to throw it in the water, as stated before, that's illegal. I just want to find a big bag I can throw it in and tie the top closed so it can't get out.
No suggestions on where to get one?

O.K. folks, enough. Does anyone remember the old Gilda Radner Emily Litella character on SNL?

"Never mind!".

I'll just get a big 40 inch laundry bag. That should work.
