How far can you cast a cute baby seal lure with a 18ft surf rod?
Boat caught Sharks don't count.

how long before they start banning going into the water completely?
I understand the safety aspect, and that it's the "end of summer", but you can't tell me with a straight face that next year there won't be some upstart politico yahoo (wanting to make a name for themself) who will impose the beach closures starting in May "just to be safe"!
Remember how the plight of the plover started out???

They are getting exactly what they want. The plovers keep people off the seashore beaches in the beginning of the summer and then they can leverage the sharks to keep people off of them the rest of the summer. |

So just Nauset to Monomoy?
There's been shark activity elsewhere (both north and south) yet they aren't closing those.
Isn't that area managed by the town of Chatham anyhow?
They closed Nauset back in July didn't they?

Nauset south to Monomoy isn't part of the Seashore. And the plovers keep vehicles off the beaches, not people.
Nauset is a money maker for the towns of Orleans and Chatham. They don't want to close them down on a whim. |
