No PFD was the first, most important mistake.
Add to that the rough seas he had launched frin/into, and that just compunds that mistake into the life-threatening level!

Hopefully someone that thinks they're invincible will read this news story and realize that nature doesn't know and doesn't care what you "think".

Better safe than sorry, although an old saying is true no matter who says it!

what he was thinking out there; maybe he was at a local bar
