Personally don't like Avets for jigging... Great reels, but the drag can get a little out of whack when constantly going in and out of gear

Shimano Ocea
Shimano Stella 20000

Spinal/Local Hooker/OTI/BH/etc. all make nice jigging rods (and spirals)

Have you tried a little Cal's drag grease on it?
